1. India Gate Delhi Tourism

This is a memorial of all the martyrs who participated in world war I and war against Afghanistan. Built in the year 1931, it has names of all the soldiers who participated in the war. India gate is surrounded by gardens and looks beautiful in the evenings when the lights are lit. This is one of the famous places in Delhi visit.

2. Rashtrapati Bhavan Tour Delhi Tourist Places

You can take a tour to the parliament of India and view the architecture, the surrounding Mughal gardens and the grandeur of the walkways. For an inside tour of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, you need to pre-book tickets. There are 340 rooms inside the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Delhi has historical places and monuments that have political significance.

3. Jantar Mantar Delhi Tourism

Maharaja Jai Singh of Jaipur built the Jantar Mantar in the year 1724. This is a Delhi tourist place which signifies Indians astronomy. 4. Hauz Khas Village Delhi Tourism

This is a village that is a blend of Mughal forts and urban cafes and architecture. It can be visited for its visual appeal and aesthetic sense. 5. Red Fort Information Delhi Tourist Places

This is one of the most iconic historic sites and has a significant history of independence attached to it. It has been the residence of many emperors of the Mughal dynasty. It was built in the year 1939 by Shah Jahan. Built in red sandstone and Mughal architecture, this is also the place where the prime minister hoists the flag on Independence Day. The red fort is an epitome of the Mughal architecture and creativity. Delhi tourism is not complete without visiting the red fort.

6. Qutub Minar Information Delhi Tourism

This is the tallest tower in the world from the UNESCO sites. Built-in 1192 by the emperor who founded the Delhi Sultanate, Gulbuddin-Aibak, gives a glimpse of the historic past of India. There are many other sites that you can visit within the Qutub Minar complex. Since the time of its construction, the tower was developed by several Mughals later post Qutubuddin Aibak. On the minaret are inscriptions of verses from the holy Quran.

7. National Zoological Park Delhi Tourist Places

Located near to the old fort in Delhi, the national zoological park was opened to the public in the year 1959. You can find many bird and animal species in this zoo. There are more than 1000 species of animals and more than 100 species of birds in this zoo. You can tour the zoo in vehicles operated within the zoo. You can find exotic plants and animals like the black buck, jaguar, peafowl, Bengal tiger, black bear, hornbills, eagles, and many more species of animals and birds.

8. Lotus Temple Information Delhi Tourism

Lotus temple is built in the form of a lotus. It depicts the Baha’i faith and is one of the most visited places in the world for its wonderful architecture. Surrounding the temple are gardens and pools. This is the temple that celebrates all religions. Within the temple, you can recite a prayer from any religion.

9. Jama Masjid Information Delhi Tourist Places

This is one of the largest mosques in India that can accommodate 25000 people at once for a prayer. It was built by Shah Jahan and is known for its architectural marvel. Jama Masjid is closer to the Connaught place and Rashtrapati Bhavan and lays on the same stretch. Built in the style of Islamic architecture, this is one of the iconic sites in old Delhi.

10. Humayun’s Tomb Facts Delhi Tourism

This is the first tomb in India with a garden and a surrounding lake and is a heritage UNESCO site. It was built in 1570 and was a source of inspiration for Taj Mahal in terms of its architecture and design. Located on the banks of river Yamuna, this is a mausoleum where there are remains of wives of Mughals and many other Mughals family members. This tomb is made in Persian and Islamic architecture.

11. Iskcon Temple Delhi Tourist Places

This is the temple that is dedicated to Lord Krishna. It is located in the hare Krishna hills in the east Kailash area of Delhi. This temple is based on the belief system of Bhagwat Gita. It has a museum, an art gallery, a Vedic center, and runs multimedia shows narrating the essence of Bhagavad Gita. This is one of the spiritual places and has restaurants within the compound.

12. Gurudwara Bangla Sahib Delhi Tourist Places

This is one of the religious places for the Sikhs built in magnificent architecture. It is open 24 hours. It has a museum and a library within its premises. Within the premises of the shrine is a ‘Yatri Niwas’ where tourists can stay. It is believed that the water in the hot springs of the gurdwara has healing properties.

13. Safdarjung Tomb Delhi Tourism

This is a mausoleum made of marble and sandstone depicts Islamic architecture. It has an intricate design and architecture and provides a magnificent view. 15. Iron Pillar Mehrauli Information Delhi Tourism

It was built by emperor Ashoka in 250 bases and is known for its mysterious feature of not being corroded over centuries despite rains and humidity. This pillar was constructed to honor Lord Vishnu and is made with wrought iron. The inscriptions on the pillar are written in the Brahmi script.

Delhi has extreme temperatures during various seasons. Summers are very hot and between the months of April and may. Monsoon is between June and September and there is heavy rainfall during monsoons.
