This village is abandoned for many centuries and was a hamlet where Paliwal Brahmin clan stayed. This village is now in ruins and is said to be cursed by the villagers who left them. It is said that the head of the clan’s daughter was disgraced by the minister of this village. In order to protect their dignity, the entire village evacuated the village within the night and cursed the place saying those who stay in this village are certain to meet their death.
MTV Girls Night Out was a horror reality show shot in this village and there have been reports of ghostly possession of the crew members stopped them from completing the shoot at this cursed village. The temple and many homes at this hamlet are in ruins. Kuldhara is 118 km from Jaisalmer. It takes only 4 hours to reach Jodhpur which is yet another ancient city flanked with forts and palaces. The Khuri village has many mud houses and you can get a taste of the rustic life of the Khuri village. You can take camel safaris through the dunes and visit the local settlements, shops, and enjoy the folk music of Kalbeliyas. Inside the national park, you can spot animals like the wolves, blackbuck, chinkara, and the desert cat. Many species of flora and fauna and birds are also found in this national park. The Great Indian Bustard, which is the state bird of Rajasthan can be found in this national park which located inside the Sudashri forest. Jaisalmer to Pushkar and Ajmer is nearly 8 hours journey by road. Flights to Pushkar from Jaisalmer are available. Many tourists come here and take the jungle wildlife safari. Over many centuries Jaisalmer has been a trading route for merchants from South Asia and Persia. You can see the BSF and the line of control where long barbed wire fence runs throughout to separate India and Pakistan. You need a permit to go to BP 609 which is the line of control in India. It is not easy to get permission to go to this place. Only Indians are allowed to go to this place. No foreign tourist is allowed near the border. This place is not counted as tourist places in Jaisalmer, because of the high-security reasons.
Jaisalmer is very hot and humid for the most part of the year except for winters. Winters start from November and end in March and is the best time to visit Jaisalmer. Summers run between April and August and are very hot. The rainy season runs between September and October and receives fewer rains during this season.
